We met in February 2014 at the University of Cape Town on Portia’s very first day of varsity. What started off as a friendship evolved into a romantic relationship in February 2016. Our days were spent catching up in between lectures, studying together when we could, partying (sometimes) and going on dates when we could afford on a very tight student budget.

Our bond grew over the years as we supported each other through university, graduations, tough personal times, career progressions and transitions, including across two different continents. (swipe left for more of our story...)

It’s been more than 9 years since we started dating and now we are getting married. Who would have thought that a boy from Lamontville and Umlazi, KwaZulu Natal, and a girl from Orange Farm, Gauteng, would one day meet, fall in love and commit to building and experiencing life together. It can only be God.

We have been blessed with a journey that has been filled with love, respect, fun and support for one another. We pray that it may continue prospering for eternity.
